The department was started in 1963. During the year 2020-21, 7418 cases were treated in the outdoor and 168 in indoor section. 150 operations including those for retinal detachments, plastic reconstruction of the lids, orbital reconstructions etc. were done. The out-patients’ department including the Glaucoma Clinic and FFA (Fundus Fluroscein Angiography) & Automated Perimetry (Humphrey Visual Field Analysis) were open on all working days.
