Appeal for financial assistance for maintaining the following -
- 684-bedded General Hospital with an Emergency Department functioning round the clock serving nearly 4 lakh patients annually.
- Community Health Service Programme serving some 40 remote villages from 3 base camps.
- Vivekananda Institute of Medical Sciences conducting various Postgraduate Medical Degree & Diploma courses and five Paramedical Degree & Diploma courses.
- Residential School of Nursing and Ma Sarada College of Nursing conducting GNM, B.Sc. Nursing and Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing course.
Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan started its journey way back in early thirties as a small maternity & child care centre. Over the years it has developed into a general hospital of charitable character with 684-beds. We provide quality medical services at heavily subsidized rates in general and complete or partial free treatment to the needy and deserving with the motto of “Service to Man is Service to God.”
Serving the economically weak sections of the society, we have no option but to keep the rates of charges even for the paying patients at considerably subsidized levels. Because of this, our maintenance expenditure exceeds the revenue income every year.
In the circumstances, for all our development projects we have to seek and depend upon financial assistance from our friends and well-wishers, charitable trusts and business organizations.
We have a Community Health Service (Mobile Unit) and a General Emergency Department, which are extending treatment and medicine to the needy villagers and those attending Emergency Department respectively completely free of cost (only a bare-minimum registration charge is being taken).
During the Centenary Year of Swami Vivekananda’s Birth Anniversary in 1963, Vivekananda Institute of Medical Sciences, the Postgraduate Medical Education and Research wing of this Pratishthan came into being. The Institute is conducting various postgraduate degree & diploma courses, affiliated by West Bengal University of Health Sciences and National Medical Commission, besides conducting various Paramedical Courses recognized by West Bengal University of Health Sciences and State Medical Faculty. This institute is devoted to advanced medical research the benefit of which ultimately percolates to the marginalized section of the society.
We hope you will appreciate that running of such kind of service activities involves huge expenditure and it will not be possible to keep this hospital running smoothly unless we get adequate financial support from pious-hearted and generous persons and organizations like you.
May we now appeal to you kindly to consider making a donation for the Permanent Fund of this Pratishthan :-
i) For maintenance of its: (a) Hospital Services to enable us to continue to serve the suffering and economicallyweaker section of the society as far as possible; and (b) Community Health Services for providing free mobile medical health services covering about 40 backward villages and a semi urban area in different Districts of West Bengal. Your generous assistance will be a source of inspiration to us. All donations for these purposes are exempt from Income Tax u/s 80G of the I.T. Act, 1961. Cheques may kindly be drawn in favour of “Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan” payable at Kolkata.
ii)Also we appeal for donations for research purposes which comes u/s 35(1)(ii) of I.T. Act, 1961 providing 100% exemption facility. Cheques for this purpose may kindly be drawn in favour of “Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan A/c VIMS” payable at Kolkata.
