Earlier, the Urology Unit was a part of the Department of Surgery. From 01-01-2016, it was made a separate department. During the year under review, 4454 cases were treated in the outdoor section and 251 in the indoor section. 162 major and 158 minor operations were carried out during the period. Difficult procedures like Total Cystectomy, Trans-Urethral Resection, Neo-Ureterocystectomy etc. were done successfully. Keeping with the advancements of Endo Urology, procedures like PCNL, Ureteroscopy are being performed on a regular basis. With the induction of the 100 Watt Holmium Laser into the department, it is being able to perform the operation of Laser Prostatectomy (HoLEP). This institute also caters for the performance of Urodynamic study to evaluate the functional status of the Lower Urinary Tract. Clinical meetings to discuss problematic cases are being held on a regular basis.

The outdoor section was open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
